In my line of work, I lead people to reach their full potential.

Raising my two children, I understood one cannot lead and mould people by controlling or pushing them, but by leading by example.

As an AVP Brand Alliances with PVR for 12+ years now, I worked closely with the Industry Vertical global leadership team, regional Industry business development teams across the globe, as well as stakeholders across the organisation.

Understanding how entertainment and media are produced enabled me to quickly progress at work. Within four years, I headed the business for the South of India, and now I also handle Sri Lanka's market. Through various sales strategies, I have successfully converted the revenue from a few lakhs to a few crores for PVR.

All of this didn’t happen overnight. I grew up in a lower-middle-class family, and most days my parents struggled to feed us. After getting married at 16, I was a single mother with two kids by 19. I did everything I could to provide for my children. My career path took me through a teachers training course, a clinic for autistic children, and a telemarketing job for Shiamak Davar. I was promoted to office assistant, and within six months, I became the South Zone business manager. As a result of the leap of faith he took on me, I became even more eager to learn and grow. Switching to INOX from there, then finally to PVR, kickstarting my success story.

Alumus of UCLA. Prior to that, I graduated from IIM Raipur and ISB with different management degrees. I feel incredibly proud of being able to compete at this level without the benefit of a great academic background.

In all of my experiences, being a mother has proven to be the happiest. With the first two members of my extended family of nearly 180 people to go to college, my children have brought generational change to our family. Being a parent and staying grounded to my roots helped me connect with the people I lead.
